Parcel Sorting for Delivery Partners in New York
In parts of New York City, delivery partners don't have room to sort on their own. SortLease puts one sorter where several of them can share it.
What We Saw in Flushing, Queens
Delivery partners in Flushing don't have enough space of their own. Three or four of them share one sorting area and take turns on the same floor every morning.
None of them can justify its own sorter or its own space. One sorter shared by several partners, each paying for its own parcels, makes more sense than equipment for each.
A good fit in New York
- Several partners sharing one site
- Drivers sorting by hand before routes
- Tight floor space, where a vertical sorter stacks capacity upward

NYC Delivery Protection Act: What Delivery Partners Should Know
A City Council bill would require Amazon and others to directly employ delivery drivers, reported as effectively ending the DSP contractor model in New York City. As of October 16, 2026 it had not been called for a vote. If you run a station in the city, keep sorting commitments flexible: pay-per-parcel sorting has no equipment to buy and the system is removable.
New York Questions
Do you serve all five boroughs and nearby New Jersey?
Yes. SortLease works anywhere in the continental U.S., including all five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester and northern New Jersey. Each project is designed for its site.
Can several delivery partners at one site share a sorter?
Yes. In a shared sorting hub, 3–4 delivery partners use one sorter in separate time windows or lanes, and each pays per parcel for its own volume.
Will you contact my carrier or station?
Not without your permission. If the station is carrier-controlled, SortLease can prepare a one-page pilot proposal you can present.
How long does installation take?
Typically 2–4 weeks after the site review and written terms.
